Jonny McEvoy was 39th at the World Championships is Zeddam at the weekend. He finished a very respectable 2:39 behind dutch winner Boy Van Poppel, and continues to show great promise with another year yet to race at Junior level.
On the British Cycling website, Jonny commented: “I really enjoyed that. I started right near the back so I had a job to do to get near the front but I think I did alright for my first Worlds. It was a really hard race which I really enjoyed. I was sitting on wheels on the finishing straight to get out of the wind and then trying my hardest to get the best place possible. I had a good race really. I didn”t come off although I did hit a few people”.
