We’re still getting one or two queries about the results from the Lakes RC ‘cross at Brockhole in early November [I, for example, am convinced that I won - ed].

I finally found some time to tidy up, anti-spam and generally refine the new North West Cyclocross Forum – if you haven’t already registered, do so here – get it all of your chest.

League updated, and a reminder about trophies for 08-09

As the league nears its close, a timely reminder:

Please could trophy holders return any NWCCA trophies at either Rhyl or Macclesfield.

Also, the NWCCA prize presentation and buffet takes place on Sunday January 25th after the last league race at Wyresdale Park, Scorton. Tickets, priced at £8:50, are available from Peter Fairclough or Louise Cooper, both Red Rose Olympic.

1st September meeting – some NWCCA rules to note

In a meeting of the league represeantatives on 1st September, some ground rules for the 2007-08 season were established:

There are 9 x BC Races to count for league as handbook – from a possible 12 events
Riders missing races due to organising or officiating / marshalling will be awarded their average points score per race from the previous season, maximum of 2 to count towards the league
League - if two riders tie on points after the last race, their league position is determined by the finishing position in the last race.
Commissiare can swap if illness would have prevented them riding a non-officiating event.
Gridding is being introduced to seed riders into start areas 6 to 20m wide depending upon vailablility. Riders will be seeded by 1) National Rankings, 2) NWCCA league position in previous season
Inter Area Champs – 4th November 2007 in Lutterworth. Expected teams:

2 x Senior teams
2 x Vet team
1 x Junior team
1 x Youth team
1 x womens (tbc)

NWCCA Forum relaunched

To describe it as a relaunch is a bit optimistic. Let’s just say that I was trying a bit too hard to get some anti-spam measures in place and the database sort of broke.

The good news is, the Forum‘s back up and running – version 2 – using the link at the top of this page. The even better news is you can still ‘view’ and ‘respond to’ the topics on the old forum here. The annoying bit is that new topics can’t be posted to the old forum any more. For any new topic, please use the main ‘forum‘ link above.

We’ve got the forum up and running again. It needed to be taken down because of a deluge of automated spam but the technological side of this is now hopefully resolved.
